Copper fiber sheet commercialized by Good Eye

Good Eye (Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture) will release GUD Sheet, a copper fiber sheet with antibacterial and antiviral effects, in June. The company commercialized four types of masks, including one priced at 4,980 yen (excluding consumption tax). The GUD sheet is a polymer fiber covered with copper foil and coated with a visible light responsive photocatalyst. In an experiment on bacteriophage, a virus that infects bacteria, it was confirmed that rubbing a finger covered with the virus on the sheet for 30 seconds reduced the number of the virus to less than 1/1000.Professor Hideyuki Itabashi of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Gunma University, who also serves as the company's chairman, said, "We hope to start experiments in July.
